Questions
What counts as an “active book”?
A book you're currently sharing with readers. Drafts you haven't shared and books you've finished or archived don't count — so you can keep a whole shelf, and only the ones out for beta count toward your limit.
Do the readers I invite have to pay?
Never. Anyone you invite reads the draft and leaves notes for free — no account paywall, ever. The subscription is for you, the author.
What happens after the 30-day free trial?
Your manuscripts, readers and notes stay exactly as they are. To keep the author tools — sharing, feedback and tracking — you continue on the $9/month plan (monthly or annual). Cancel anytime.
What if a book reaches its reader limit?
New readers can still accept the invite — they land on a waiting list with no access yet. Free a slot (remove an inactive reader) and you can admit someone from the list in a click.
Can I change which books are active?
Yes. Pause or archive a book and it stops counting against your active-book limit; bring it back whenever you're ready for another round of beta reading.
I'm running a class or a large ARC team — what then?
That's the “Bigger circle” tier. Tell us what you need and we'll tailor the limits to your group.
